Changes to the learn.gold theme

We have made improvements and fixed some issues with the 'gold' theme - which controls the look and feel of learn.gold. The changes are based on feedback from students and staff since our move to Moodle 2 last summer. Very little has changed, but you may notice the items below.

For students and staff - current section highlighting

This allows the current section of a course area to be highlighted via gold stripes. This was available in the previous learn.gold and has been re-introduced. There is an example below:

For courses using the weekly view, this happens automatically. For courses based on the topic view, teachers can choose to highlight a section using the lightbulb icon.

For staff - clearly flagging hidden items

Hidden resources and links will now appear as grey with dotted underlines and hidden sections will now be clearly flagged with grey stripes - see below for an example.

This will benefit students too by removing a potential pitfall as it wasn't always easy for teachers to spot the hidden items on a page.

As always, feedback on these changes are welcome.

Kind regards
