I wanted to bring to your attention that IT&DS have identified a flaw in our current version of Moodle that could allow attackers to execute malicious code in our system affecting the learn.gold servers, potentially compromising sensitive student data, and disrupting our educational services. IT&DS are taking immediate steps to mitigate this risk. The problem is connected to a quiz question type. The type quiz question that is the issue is the Calculated Question. To fix the problem, IT&DS will be patching this quiz question type, making it unusable until learn.gold is updated in the summer of 2025. If you use this question type in your quizzes after this patch goes into effect all answers will always return a false score.
