Pondering a few short questions about your experience of curriculum design might be formative for academics here. If you can spare 15 minutes, contact Emma Jane Berridge, Research Fellow in the Educational Development Unit, School of Community and Health Sciences, City University - e.berridge@city.ac.uk; 020 7040 5407. She says:

"I can offer nothing in return, but a heap of gratitude and the faint glow of satisfaction from helping out a stranger."

The questions:
  • What, in your view, are the most important factors in curriculum design?
  • What are the main challenges in designing the curriculum for a module or programme?
  • Who is indispensable when you're planning/designing the curriculum?
  • Is there a particular curriculum model/approach the University prescribes?
    • If so, can you comment briefly on your perceptions of it (advantages/disadvantages/challenges)?
    • If not, is there a particular model/approach you favour, and can you briefly comment on its advantages/challenges?
  • How has curriculum design/planning changed in your years in the business?
    • And what's your perception of the changes? Good/bad/indifferent?
