We're aware of a couple of intermittent issues with learn.gold which can make it slow down. These being:
- a bug in the software relating to calendar events which will be addressed in a future release
- an intermittent problem with the PDF converter, which converts Word documents into PDF for the marking interface
There is also some database maintenance work to do over the summer which will improve the performance.
Since we tend to use learn.gold all day in TaLIC, we usually spot the issues and ask colleagues in IT&IS to check the servers, however if you experience repeated slow page loads or errors, please email us at tel@gold.ac.uk.
It's worth noting, although it sometimes runs slowly, it will still be functioning. You can carry on working, or if you can try again in an hour, you may find it is back to normal.
