Does speed gain us time ... or does it contribute to a devaluation of time, and does the immediacy of email devalue communication? Researchers in Computer Art at Bournemouth University have devised a "slow art" project in order to make us think about these questions, and question our thinking about communication. To that end they have devised RealSnailMail: email delivered by snails. Or not delivered: there is not only no guarantee as to when the email will arrive in the recipient's inbox, but no guarantee that it will ever arrive.
